Two redesigns of one classic novel “The Scarlet Letter” and one contemporary novel “State of Wonder.”  Both have an underlaying sense of doom within the books themselves yet take place hundreds of years apart and in entirely different places.
The redesign for “The Scarlet Letter” takes inspiration from the wood block carved letters that were popular during the time frame that the book takes place in with the varying shades of red peaking through to signify the darker mystery within.  Meanwhile the redesigned cover for "State of wonder" takes direct inspiration from the scientific aspects within the novel as the main character is a science researcher.
